OT: Guitar advice

I've been looking at purchasing an electric guitar for mainly personal play
(no gigs, at the moment). I've played acoustic guitar for years but now I'm
looking at going electric. Any suggestions? Nothing too expensive since
it's a personal hobby. Are starter packs a good deal? Where is the best
place to buy? Any good experiences? Thanks & rock on.

You'd be better off finding a good used American made guitar.. Hit a few
pawn shops or guitar stores with used stuff and if you see something you
like, go on Ebay and see what that model/year is going for before you
buy. Later on if you feel like getting rid of it you should have no
problems getting your money back or you just may make some extra too..
